What’s in an edition
- Your Neighbourhood Safety Report
- What was reported to police last month, in plain language, with a map of the area it covers.
- Each dot marks a place where something was reported to police.
- A number means several reports at that same place — tap it to see them.
This month’s featured neighbourhood is Yonge–Bay Corridor; from October, a different one each month, chosen at random from those published so far. The boundary is defined by Toronto Police Service. Incident locations are approximate — offset to the nearest intersection to protect privacy.

- Development applications, Committee of Adjustment hearings, every building permit issued — address by address, in the City’s own words — and average sale prices. Whether prices are up or down, permits show whether people are putting work into the street: a deck, a furnace, or an addition.

How it is put together
- Every figure comes from the public record and can be traced back to it. Nothing is estimated, modelled, or filled in.
- No rankings. We will never tell you which neighbourhood is the “worst” or the “most dangerous”. That framing sells attention and explains nothing.
- Small numbers are left alone. When a count is low, a percentage change is noise dressed up as news, so we don’t print one.
- Corrections are visible. Every page carries a link that reaches a person, and mistakes are published rather than quietly edited away.
